Jenn Shaw
Jenn Shaw is a New York–based writer/director originally from Lexington, Kentucky. After graduating from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, she built a career telling coming-of-age and sports-driven stories, shaped in part by her early work as a producer at ESPN’s Creative Works.
She is an alumna of the Fox Network’s Diversity Writers Program, and her short film $15 Kicks, executive produced by Spike Lee, earned her a selection for SHOOT Magazine’s New Directors Showcase presented by the DGA. Since then, her work has continued to be recognized, including a nomination for an American Pavilion Emerging Filmmaker Award at the Cannes Film Festival, as well as Gold and Silver Anthem Awards for her spot for Children’s Aid. Most recently, she directed Running While Black for Adidas and Vice.
Across all of this, she’s developed a clear signature: stories rooted in character, movement, and identity, often finding humanity in the space where sport and ambition collide.
