Stoney Sharp
Stoney is a comedy director, writer, and producer best known for his work in television. Most recently, he directed an episode of John Mulaney Presents: Everybody’s in LA. He previously directed the HBO pilot Silver-Show, produced by Judd Apatow and starring Sarah Silverman.
He is a graduate of the USC School of Cinematic Arts and spent several years as a director with the Upright Citizens Brigade, where he developed a strong foundation in performance-driven comedy. He got his start directing Billy on the Street for TruTV, where he learned early that titles can be misleading, as Billy was, in fact, on the sidewalk.
In addition to writing and directing shorts for Adult Swim, Funny or Die, Cracked, and CollegeHumor, he has developed and directed projects including Comedy Bang! Bang! for IFC and The Who Was? Show for Netflix. He has also directed commercials for a range of brands, bringing the same comedic sensibility to commercial work as he does to television. Across his work, he is known for a grounded comedic approach with a strong focus on performance, collaboration, and timing.
